Enders Game

Ender's Game (1985) is a science fiction novel written by Orson Scott Card and was his first published novel. Ender's Game originated as a short story and is set in the future and mankind is facing annihilation from an aggressive alien society that functions as a hive mind. Genius children are the ultimate defenders and leaders of the protection of Earth.

In addition to being a very enjoyable and fascinating read (if you can stand the excessively superhuman child protagonist), the protagonist, Ender, leads, motivates, and directs his army using excellent leadership skills. Some military colleges have used Enders Game as a textbook on leadership.
