Certain placename in Cyprus have modernised (or 'correct') spellings, in that the new spellings are the ones you will find on motorway signs:

Nicosia -> Lefkosia

Famagusta -> Ammachostos

Ayia Napa -> Agia Napa

Limmasol -> Lemmasos

Larnaca -> Larnaka
