I don't know much about cofinality, but I deleted the statement that the cofinality of an infinite cardinal is itself, as I'm pretty sure this is wrong. The counterexamples are called singular cardinals (as contrasted with regular cardinals). E.g., aleph-omega has cofinality aleph-0. If there are other things you aren't sure of, you should remove them - it would be better not to say much than to say things which are wrong. --Zundark, 2001 Oct 5
