The Right Honourable Sir Charles Tupper (2 July 1821 - 30 October 1915) was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia.

He studied at the [University of Edinburgh]?, becoming a doctor upon his graduation in 1843. In 1846 he married Frances Morse (1826 - 1912) with whom he had three sons and three daughters.

He served as Canada's High Commissioner to the UK from 1884 to 1887. He led the Canadian Conservative? party from 1896 to 1900 and was Prime Minister of Canada from 1 May 1896 to 8 July 1896.

Sir Charles Tupper died at Bexleyheath, Kent, England and was buried in St.John's Cemetery, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
