The Brooklyn Historic Railway Association was founded by Bob Diamond in 1982. It is housed in a building on a pier in Red Hook, serving as the [Brooklyn Trolley Museum]?.

Its future, as of September 2001, is in extreme jeopardy after a tugboat rammed the pier with the trolley barn. Two trolleys are trapped inside. The access road is sinking. The pier's owner and the City of New York have stated that they don't have the money for repairs. The BHRA intends to sell off its assets, which include rare historical trolleys and equipment. Diamond has ended the Atlantic Avenue Tunnel tours.
