Plate Appearance.

A batter has a plate appearance every time he:

1. Has an At-Bat (/AB)
2. Receives a Base-on-balls (/BB)
3. Receives a Hit-by-pitch (/HBP)
4. Hits a Sacrifice Fly (/SF)
5. Hits a Sacrifice bunt (/S)

A batter does not have a plate appearance if, while he was at bat, the inning ended some other way (for example, due to a Caught-Stealing (/CS)).
